Samsung Galaxy Gio Is an Attractive Mid-Range Handset

Samsung recently revealed that they will be making three high-quality phones for the mid-range smartphone segment and one among them is the Samsung Galaxy Gio. It is a phone that has not been launched by the company, but it is going to be very soon. The name 'Gio' refers to jewel in Italian and it is probably the appropriate word for the phone. It is easily one of the best looking phones to have been launched by the company in the last few years. In fact, in terms of looks, it is able to swallow the Samsung Galaxy S, which is the most successful phone in Samsung's line-up.

The Samsung Galaxy Gio comes with a 3.2 inch touch screen display that is probably the smallest of the four touch screen phones that Samsung are going to launch. However, this small size gives the advantage of being able to show the images at far higher resolutions when compared with the screen size. The phone is capable of 320 x 480 pixels, which is almost the same, but when you consider the small size screen, the resolution actually looks better in the Samsung Galaxy Gio. Even though the screen will not be coming with the usual protective guards that are seen in higher segment phones, it is still easy to protect this display. The phone will be coming with proximity sensor, accelerometer and plenty of other options that will help you get the best out of this touch screen. It is a capacitive touch screen that can recognise multiple touches.

If you need one more example to show that this phone is very similar to the three other touchscreen phones that Samsung are preparing to launch, then you should take a look at the 158 MB of memory internally in this phone. Similarly, it also has additional memory card support, something that is clearly omitted in this segment. The maximum allowed memory in the Samsung Galaxy Gio is 16 GB, while other phones that are also going to be launched simultaneously will be supporting up to 32 GB. Hence, one can expect this phone to be priced slightly lower than the other models. However, it does not sacrifice on most features for its reduced price.

Options like the 3.15 megapixel camera that comes with flash and video recording options are standard. This camera can record high quality images due to the presence of autofocus feature and moreover, the flash that is used in this phone is the LED flash. The Android 2.2 operating system in this phone is run by the 800 MHz processor, which is also helped by the significant amount of RAM present in this phone. The phone has inbuilt media player that is one of the best in this segment due to the wide range of formats that it supports. It is not matter if you want to play audio or video files, the inbuilt media player can support most of the widely used formats.
