The Samsung Galaxy Mini And Gio - Mid-Range Handsets Set For 2011

The Samsung Galaxy series has been widely known for creating high-quality high-end handsets such as the S i9000 and the Giorgio Armani. However, there were not enough mid-range handsets. Since there is a great demand for these types of handsets, the company has announced that they will be releasing medium-ranged handsets for 2011. Two of these smartphones are the Mini and the Gio.

The S 5570 Mini is a mini version of its bigger brother S i9000. It is 110.4 mm high, 60.8 mm wide, and 12.1 mm thick. It weighs in at a mere 105 grams. It comes with a 3.14 inch display. It has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The Mini can download at 7.2 mbps on a 3G network and has Wi-Fi capabilities. It comes with a 3.15 MP camera with image enhancing features. It is equipped with a 600 MHz processor.

The Gio is 110.5 mm high, 57.5 mm wide, and 12.2 mm thick. It comes with a 3.2 inch display capable of a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It has a 3.15 MP camera that comes complete with image enhancing features. It can download at 7.2 mbps on a 3G network and has Wi-Fi capabilities. It comes with a slightly more powerful processor that is clocked at 800 MHz.

These handsets may not come with as much power as earlier releases in the series. However, they will not need a much power due to the OS they are running on. Both handsets run on the Froyo Android 2.2 OS. This OS is 2 to 5 times faster compared to its 2.1 version the Éclair. It was designed for smoother multitasking between apps, OS applications, browsers, games, and media players. With a highly advanced OS, you will not need as much power. Furthermore, this OS is much more energy efficient. Battery life will never be an issue.

2011 is scheduled to release a number of mid-ranged handsets for the popular series. They come in smaller packages, but will not fall short on expectations. The Samsung Galaxy Mini and Gio are sure to take the mobile market by storm.
