The White Samsung Galaxy S2 Boasts An 8 Megapixel Camera And Fast Internet Browsing

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has recently been launched in a white colour variant offering appeal to style conscious users who also view their phone as a fashion statement. As if the high performance specs of the original weren't enough, the White Samsung Galaxy S2 builds on this appeal.

In this article I will look at how the handset performs as a camera phone and web browsing device, as these are key features for most people when choosing a new smartphone.

One of the most important features for many when choosing a new smartphone for many is the camera. The White Samsung Galaxy S2 is well equipped in this respect, boasting an 8 megapixel camera which is widely regarded as one of the best in its class. Just like the original black version, this camera comes with plenty of useful features which aim to improve results whilst keeping it simple to use. Autofocus, LED flash, face & smile detection and image stabilisation are all included, and all illustrate how the camera is powerful but easy to use. The camera also has the ability to capture video footage in high definition, in 1080p (full HD) quality, although lower settings are included should you need to save battery. There is also a second camera located on the front of the handset, so you can take self portrait photos or make video calls to contacts that have a compatible smartphone.

The original Galaxy S2 is well known for its abilities as a web browsing device, and this is also true of the White Samsung Galaxy S2. This is thanks largely to its internet connectivity options, provided courtesy of Wi-Fi and 3G coverage. Wi-Fi offers the fastest connection, whilst also boasting less battery usage than 3G and it also does not use up your data allowance. All that's required is access to a local wireless network. The alternative is to utilise 3G coverage which provides an internet connection via an HSDPA connection. This provides speeds of up to 21 megabytes per second, making the original version and the White Samsung Galaxy S2 among the fastest web browsing phones. The internet browsing software is provided by the TouchWiz 4.0 UI, which is Samsung's custom Android interface. This runs over the top of the Android Gingerbread OS (v2.3). It is worth mentioning here that there is a new version of Android on the way (v4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich) and it has been confirmed that the Galaxy S2 (black and white versions) will support this once an update has been released.

The above features are of course the tip of the iceberg, as the White Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with many other impressive key features like a dual-core processor, plenty of internal and expandable storage and a high resolution touchscreen.

If you are interested in the White Samsung Galaxy S2, you will be pleased to know that you can pick up the handset for free from several UK networks when you sign up to a selected tariff.

A Look Screen Technology And Performance On The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Original Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy range of mobile handsets offers a number of high quality devices at various price points to suit all types of consumer. The first model in the range that was ever released was the Samsung Galaxy S, a phone which at its time of release was ahead of the competition in terms of specification. The latest model in the Galaxy family is the superb Nexus device so we thought it might be interesting to see how the range has evolved and look at how the two models differ.

Although it is now two years old the Samsung Galaxy S offers some specification which still compares well against many modern handsets. The phone uses a 4 inch Super AMOLED display which is capable of displaying a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. At the time of release this screen was far superior to many of the phones rivals and still produces vivid images with great viewing angles that can be easily viewed in sunlight, something that can not be said of many S-LCD screens. This super AMOLED technology was so impressive that Samsung opted to continue to use the screens in future premium phones and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the very latest model to offer this type of display. Being two years younger than the original handset the Nexus does sport some improvements in this area with the main one being a boost in resolution. The screen on this new model can display 720 x 1280 pixels which makes it one of the highest resolutions currently available. The size of the screen has also been increased to 4.65 inches. When we look at what both models can offer in terms of pixel density the Galaxy Nexus is capable of showing 316 pixels per inch compared with the 233PPI available on the original Galaxy S.

Since the Galaxy S was launched we have seen a number of improvements in mobile technology especially when you look at the processing power of modern phones. In the last 12 months we have seen dual core technology introduced on many devices and as you would expect the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus includes this type of chip. The 1.2Ghz processor is incredibly fast and is partnered by a powerful PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit that ensures all visuals on the handset look as stunning as possible. The Galaxy S makes use of a single core 1Ghz Hummingbird processor which was the fastest available at its time of release and still performs at a great speeds today. The model also uses the same GPU as the Nexus which demonstrates just how advanced this model was when it was launched. The 512MB of RAM memory offered on the original phone has been doubled to 1GB on the new Nexus which means that the phone is well equipped to handle any future developments in technology.

Two years after its launch the Samsung Galaxy S is still a phone that offers fast performance and beautiful visuals from the high quality screen that it uses. The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus offers improvements in nearly every area and is currently one of the leading devices on the market.

An Introduction To The Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is one of the latest in the ever expanding range of Galaxy smartphones from Samsung. This range has produced notable handsets including the Galaxy S, the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus among others. In this article I will focus on the latter, and provide a review of the handset so you can decide if it is the right smartphone for you.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a stylish smartphone, which looks similar in shape to handsets such as the HTC Sensation, and to some extent, the iPhone 4S. Its spec list reveals the levels of technology incorporated within the handset, and it quickly becomes apparent that no corners have been cut during the phone's design.

In my opinion, the screen is the most impressive feature of this phone. Measuring up at 4.65 inches, the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen has a whopping pixel resolution of 720x 1280. Beaten only by the Samsung Galaxy Note, this is the highest resolution screen available on a smartphone. To put this into perspective, the iPhone 4S (the previous title holder) with its retina display has a resolution of 640x 960. Having a high screen resolution lends itself to multimedia use such as watching movies, viewing your photos, as well as gaming and web browsing, all benefiting from the levels of clarity and detail a high resolution screen brings.

Web browsing is another strength of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. In areas with 3G coverage, an HSDPA connection allows data download speeds of up to 21 Mbps, which is the same as the Galaxy S2, and some 6.6 Mbps faster than the iPhone 4S or HTC Sensation. Wi-Fi is also included as you may expect, so users can connect to wireless networks when they have access, whereby they can browse the web without sacrificing their data allowance.

One of the main reasons for the release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is to showcase the new version of the increasingly popular Android OS. Version 4, aka Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest version, so users can expect many improvements over previous versions. Many areas of the phone benefit from the new OS, and anyone who has used previous versions of Android will surely be impressed.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a 5 megapixel camera, which may not sound too impressive, especially with the standard seemingly being 8 megapixels on newly released smartphones. The camera does have a very high resolution though, and is capable of capturing video footage in 1080p high definition. The pixel count is not the be all and end all when it comes to measuring the performance of camera, and the Galaxy Nexus proves this.

It is hard to find anything bad to say about this phone. Nearly every area of its spec list incorporates the latest and greatest technology available. When pitted against competing handsets from the likes of Apple and HTC, both of which offer handsets which are flooding the market at the moment, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes out on top in several areas.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Galaxy S3 - How Performance And Camera Features May Differ

Samsung has recently launched the superb Galaxy Nexus mobile handset, a powerful and stylish mobile phone that competes well with the leading devices currently available. Rumours are surfacing however about the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S3, the successor to the best selling S2 and a phone likely to take the place of the Galaxy Nexus at the head of the Samsung family. We take a look at how the Nexus may measure up against the new S3.

Samsung always produces powerful mobile phones and the Galaxy Nexus is no exception. The phone sports a Ti-OMAP chipset which includes a dual core 1.2Ghz ARM Cortex A9 processor and a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit. This setup ensures that the model operates at a great speed and there is no question that the phone is one of the fastest currently on the market. The model also includes a large 1GB of RAM memory which is nearly double the 512MB that is offered on the popular iPhone 4S. This level of memory ensures that the device is well equipped for any future developments that may be applicable to this model. It is widely expected that the new Galaxy S3 will become the fastest phone available when it is released. The general consensus is that the model will offer a 1.8Ghz processor that is likely to boast dual core technology although some reports have suggested that the model may be the first quad core phone ever released. The phone will also set a new benchmark for RAM memory by offering 2GB which is double what the current leading handsets offer. Despite the undoubted power that the Galaxy S3 will offer it is hard to see how it can make huge improvements on the incredibly fast Galaxy Nexus.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus features a superb camera facility which produces excellent photographs and video footage. Despite only offering a 5 million pixel resolution for still shots the results are still fantastic thanks to a combination of superb software together with some excellent camera functions. The phone incorporates an LED flash for poor lighting conditions and a touch focus feature that enables you to select the part of your frame that you want the camera to focus on. One of the more impressive elements of this camera is the speed at which it can capture a photograph and it is the first mobile handset released by Samsung that boasts no shutter lag which means the image is captured the moment the shutter button is pressed. It looks as though Samsung are going to fit a huge 12 mega pixel sensor in their new Galaxy S3. This camera is set to be accompanied by an auto focus feature and image stabilisation software to help you get the best results possible. The secondary camera on the phone will be the same as the Galaxy Nexus which can take photographs at 2 million pixel resolution and video capture on both models will also be identical at 1080P resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will undoubtedly be a huge success when it is finally released however the Galaxy Nexus offers enough quality to remain a hugely popular with the public even when competing with this new model.

Vodafone Launches Cheapest Deals So Far for a Free Samsung Galaxy Note

The new Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the most expensive handset releases from the manufacturer this year demanding a similar price tag to the recently released flagship Samsung Galaxy Nexus but a selection of Vodafone contract deals have now been launched which are the cheapest available with a free phone included.

Since its initial release a couple of weeks ago the new Samsung Galaxy Note could not be purchased by consumers on contract deals with less than a £41 charge per month, this was on the Orange network and Vodafone have just released a Galaxy Note deal that includes a free phone that only asks for £36 line rental.

This new Samsung Galaxy Note deal is on the 'Vodafone 600' tariff which offers an inclusive data bundle of 500MB every month which will be well used by this new Android phone that requires an internet connection to maintain some of its crucial features.

Also included in this new Vodafone deal for the Galaxy Note are 600 minutes which the customer can use at any time of the day to call landline numbers as well as other mobile networks, making this new package even more attractive is unlimited text messaging every month and the fact that it is a full £5 cheaper than the previous best deal offered by Orange.

So what does the new Samsung Galaxy Note on Vodafone offer?

The most obvious thing about this new phone is the size of its main screen, measuring an industry leading 5.3 inches it is by far the largest currently available with the HTC Sensation XL and HTC Titan following in second with 4.7 inch displays and the brand new Samsung Galaxy Nexus with its 4.65 inch touch screen.

The sheer size of the Super AMOLED display almost knocks the Samsung Galaxy Note out of the smart phone category and into the tablet market but on closer inspection this is very much a phone.

Running on a fast, dual core 1.4GHz processor which is even faster than the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S2 and powered by an enormous 2500 mAh battery this new handset may have dimensions of 146 x 83 mm but at just 10mm thin it is still easy enough to slip into a pocket.

On the reverse of the phone is an 8 mega pixel camera which allows the user to record high quality 1080p full HD video clips and on the front of the handset us a secondary camera for video calling. (Those using Apple products such as the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 will know this as 'Facetime').

To get the Galaxy Note hooked up to the internet there is WiFi and speedy 3.5G data support whilst GPS takes care of turn by turn navigation and with access to the Android Market there is now a massive choice of over half a million new applications for users to download.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is now available on Orange, O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone contract deals leaving just 3 Mobile as the main player yet to launch offers for this new handset, it is also available as a SIM free and unlocked unit and a possible Pay As You Go release is also rumoured to take place soon.

Samsung Galaxy Note Deals Now Available

The Galaxy range of smart phones from Samsung has now expanded to include a very different new model, the Samsung Galaxy Note is bordering on being a tablet device but is officially classed as a large smart phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note deals have now been released on the Orange network in the UK and already offer this new Galaxy phone free of charge on some of the higher line rental deals, consumers can pick up a free Galaxy Note from £41 per month - that's the same price as the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S 16GB.

For this amount of line rental each month on the Orange Panther 42 tariff, the consumer can expect an inclusive minutes allocation of 900 which can be used at any time and to call any network including (UK landline numbers), there is also an unlimited amount of text messages to use each month as well as a substantial 1GB of data for browsing the internet, emailing and updating applications.

The confusion surrounding the correct categorisation of this latest handset is all based around the size of its touch screen, boasting a massive 5.3 inch display the Galaxy Note is homing in on tablet size but this is most definitely a smart phone when you take a closer look at the phones specifications.

The touch screen display uses the same technology found in the current Samsung Galaxy S2 and new Motorola RAZR known as Super AMOLED for a bright, sharp and crisp image even in direct sunlight, to power this huge screen and the rest of the phones features is a fast, dual core 1.4GHz processing chip, one of the fastest Samsung has ever used in a smart phone.

New features of the Galaxy Note include a hidden stylus which can be used for handwriting on the big screen or general navigation, there is also the new Samsung instant messaging service called ChatON which works very much like iMessage from Apple and Blackberry Messenger from RIM.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note is due to be released on more UK networks over the coming days and deals may get a little more competitive as the retailers start to receive their stocks, that said this is a top-end smart phone with some serious hardware on offer and is likely to cost more than many current models such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation XE.

Samsung Galaxy S3 to Upgrade the Galaxy S2

Much of the talk recently from the Korean manufacturer Samsung has been about the release of their latest Android operating software called Ice Cream Sandwich, however there now looks to be a new phone on the horizon which is to not only upgrade the current best-selling Samsung Galaxy S2 but also feature this latest OS, namely; the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The new Samsung Galaxy S3 is to offer a whopping 18GHz dual core processor which will be officially the fastest on the market, coupled with this is a staggering 12 mega pixel camera.

Currently the Samsung Galaxy S2 features a 1.2GHz dual core chip along with an 8 mega pixel camera so this is a serious upgrade to what is already a very advanced smart phone.

The main touch screen display is also to be upgraded to a large 4.6 inch Super AMOLED, the same technology as the current Samsung Galaxy S2 but even bigger, however the one overriding and noticeable change between these two handsets comes in the form of a new shape.

Whilst the existing Galaxy S2 is a very square and slim device measuring just 8.9mm at its thinnest point the new Samsung Galaxy S3 offers a far more rounded design often found in the manufacturers Wave range of handsets but is also reported to actually be slimmer than the current model.

The release of the latest Android OS was officially delayed by Google out of respect for the recent passing of the man at the helm of Apple; Steve Jobs, the launch event has now been rescheduled for a later date and the roll out to existing devices will occur after this date.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has recently been voted by readers of T3 magazine as the 'Phone of the Year 2011' beating off stiff competition from the likes of the iPhone 4 and HTC Sensation, should the new Galaxy S3 follow a similar path we could already be looking at the 'Phone of the Year 2012' considering the sheer amount of technology this new phone offers.

Although there has been no official release date mentioned by Samsung it is widely expected that the Galaxy S3 will be launched alongside the new Google Galaxy Nexus as happened with the previous Galaxy S and Nexus S launch pattern.

Whether we'll actually see these two new phones this year remains unanswered but both Android and Samsung fans are already licking their lips at the though of these high specification devices hitting the market.

The Apple iPhone 4 Head To Head With The Samsung Galaxy S2

The year 2011 is coming to an end soon, and the battle of the supreme smartphones is only going to thicken. So out of several contenders out there, let's pick two very popular choices and pit them against each other: Apple's iPhone 4 and Samsung's latest Galaxy S2.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is basically the successor of the earlier Galaxy S, which was one of the best of last year's Android phones. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S2 packs the new Android OS 2.3 on a 4.2 inch AMOLED screen with 800x480 resolution. While bigger than Apple's iPhone 4 screen of 3.5 inches, there is still no contender to the iPhone's retina display at an ultra-sharp 960x640 resolution. Still its "Super AMOLED Plus" screen looks good with vivid colours, and its overall smoothness is not that far off from the iPhone, probably thanks to its dualcore Qualcomm processor of 1.2GHz with a 1GB RAM. This seems to slightly edge out the iPhone's A4 processor at 1GHz and half the RAM at 512MB. Smoothness was a close tie here, though we would expect the dualcore processor of the Samsung to handle heavy multitasking better.

In terms of the Android 2.3 versus Apple's iOS 4, Android's latest instalment offers Samsung's TouchWiz UI 4.0. It does offer some neat features such as Game Hub and Readers Hub, but we found that this is still no match compared to the vastness of Apple's App Store, as well as the smooth, slick feel of the iPhone 4. Probably the only edge that Android holds over iOS is the fact that it allows you to play Adobe Flash when browsing online, which is useful for some websites with videos and animations.

Samsung Galaxy S2 has a superior camera of 8 megapixels versus 5 megapixels on the iPhone 4. Also the Galaxy S2 offers video shooting at Full HD resolution that is 1080p at 30fps. This feature is certainly superior to the iPhone's video at a HD resolution of 720p at 30fps. Both the Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4 have an LED flash and autofocus, but Samsung Galaxy S2 packs a superior front camera of 2-megapixels, versus just plain VGA resolution on the iPhone 4, which could likely provide more immersive video calls.

In terms of physical size and build, the Samsung Galaxy S2 measures 125x66x8.5mm, which feels very slim and light at only 8.5mm thick, and weighing in at 116g. The Apple iPhone 4 measures 115.2x58.6x9.3mm, which means the iPhone 4 is a little thicker at 9.3mm, and a little heavier at 137g. However, the build quality of the Samsung Galaxy S2 feels somewhat flimsy and plasticky, as compared to the solid metallic feel of the iPhone 4.

Storage-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S2 offers the same 16 or 32 GB variants as the iPhone 4, with the notable difference of a microSD expansion slot, which can cater for up to an additional 32GB storage, depending on the microSD card.

The battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is also pretty impressive, being able to last into Day 2 despite some heavy usage of Wi-Fi and games. This is superior to the iPhone 4 which barely makes it to the end of Day 1 under heavy usage.

To summarize, it does appear that overall, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has trounced the Apple iPhone 4 in a number of departments as described above, which was expected considering the Samsung was released almost a year later in Feb 2011 versus the Apple iPhone 4 in June 2010. Keep a lookout for the iPhone 5 which would be expected to outdo the Galaxy S2 with at least similar, if not superior features.

Samsung Phones are still the hottest phones out in the market right now thanks to the combination of the smart application and operating system together with the proper color and shape. There are a lot of things for a lot of people for all the Samsung Galaxy products especially the Samsung Galaxy S2.

One of the things that people have loved in the Samsung brand is the recently released Galaxy S2 aside from the obviously great and powerful Android operating system. The S2 has seen a fair amount of upgrades that makes it far superior to its older brother the Samsung Galaxy. The New Galaxy S2 White on the other hand still retains everything people loved about the first black version of the Galaxy S2 which has already sold more than 5 million units within the first 85 days after it hit stores.

The Galaxy S2 White still has the brilliant Android OS, specifically known as the Android 2.3 or more popularly known as the Gingerbread. While people might say that the Android powered Galaxy is just a rehash of Apples iPhone with more bells and whistles the truth is, its a whole new ball game.

The Samsung Galaxy as well as its successor the Galaxy S2 White is packed with a lot of cool features such as a really fast and reliable 1.2 GHz processor which is perfect for light and heavy mobile wifi users who love to spend a lot of considerable time tweeting or uploading photos on Facebook.

The Galaxy S2 also has a built-in 8 megapixel camera that snaps brilliant images with crystal clear quality and in a higher resolution. The S2s screen complements that feature all thanks to a great 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen display. With all that built in power, people are still amazed at how thin and how light the Galaxy S2 is. The mobile phone just weighs 115 grams and has a total thickness of 8.49mm.

Kids in high school and even college students have also found the Samsung Galaxy S2 and subsequently even the Galaxy S2 White to be a winner thanks to its great battery life. The Galaxy S2s standard talk time can last for as long as 18.3 hours while the average hours that it would last on stand-by is 710 hours. Since the phone is also capable of doing 3G calls, people who do so should know that the phone can last for as long as 9 hours.

Other simple creature comforts that the casual phone user should always have in their phones are all inside the Samsung Galaxy S2. These standard features include Internet Browsing which is made even better thanks to the smart applications for websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Picasa. YouTube users will also find the phone very handy as it does have its own YouTube player.

Some other neat features for the Samsung Galaxy S2 White includes a gyroscope and accelerometer. Rounding the features for the Galaxy S2 is a digital compass that will definitely come in handy in sticky situations.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Is Now Available In White

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is thinner, lighter, and much better looking than its main competitor the Apple iPhone. On the outside it is sleek, slim and smoothly designed making it very pleasing to the eye. Samsung are about to release a new version of the handset dressed in a beautiful white coating with chrome trimmings.

The new version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 has the same specifications and the same features as the black version. Many people are asking if there will be upgrades or new features on the white version of the Galaxy S2. Unfortunately executives at Samsung found it unnecessary to implement new features and upgrades, since they are making a killing with sales anyway.

In fact, they have sold over 5 million units of the white Galaxy S2 since August. People have pre-ordered the item online to ensure that they will receive their new phones on the date of the release.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is the second best selling smart phone in the world. It has won the smart phone of the year award from a number of prestigious UK technology reviews. Like the old saying goes why try and fix something that isn't broken, and that is what the executives at Samsung have done. The white version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is one of the most powerful smart phones of 2011.

Hot and Sizzling in White

The white Galaxy S2 is selling like hot cakes even before its official release date. However, it has also garnered some heat from its competitors. Apple has been known to be very aggressive in the industry by filing copyright infringements against its competitors, but it also has its share or legal battles where smaller companies accuse it of doing exactly the same thing.

The same thing could happen to Samsung simply for launching a white version of its flagship smart phone. However it is very difficult to prove that the design belongs to Apple, so the white version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is likely to remain untouched by Apple for now.

Samsung is smart enough not to copy the exact same shade of white that Apple uses with its products. The white colour of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is a cross between silver white and championship white. It also has chrome trimmings on its borders, making it look very different from any smart phone that other brands have released.

Powerful Camera

The Galaxy S2 is a very powerful phone because it runs on one of the most advanced operating systems for smart phones, Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The smart phone also utilizes the well acclaimed TouchWiz user interface. For the camera, it boasts an amazing 8-Megapixel shooter and it is capable of recording high definition videos at 1080p.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is set to overrun the market if the trend continues. Unless Apple does something drastic with the huge success of the Galaxy S2, this smart phone will soon become the reigning giant. Its huge range of apps, features, media, connectivity and powerful OS that make this phone a stylish yet convenient way to communicate.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Offers Plenty Of Improvements Over The Popular Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S has proven to be a popular device since its release last year, but now there's a new kid on the block, the Samsung Galaxy S2. This sees a wealth of upgrades over the original Galaxy S, incorporating some of the most advanced smartphone technology available.

In this article, I will give an overview of the upgrades Samsung has made over the original, so you can decide if the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the smartphone for you.

The design of the handsets themselves differs slightly. Whilst the original has a slightly curvier appearance, the Samsung Galaxy S2 somewhat resembles the shape of an iPhone 4. The new version also trumps the original in both width and weight; at just 116 grams and 8.5mm thick. The rest of the dimensions are similar, however the Galaxy S2 is slightly bigger due to the fact it boasts a larger screen of 4.3 inches, which retains the same super AMOLED capacitive technology, and the resolution of 480x 800. Although the resolution is the same, but on a bigger screen, there is no noticeable difference to the display quality, which remains top notch.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 features the latest version of TouchWiz (4.0). This user interface offers a number of improvements over version 3.0 found on the original Galaxy S. For example, it offers a new way to assign widgets, by using the built in gyroscope, as well as a number of brand new widgets ranging from active weather apps, and live wallpapers. Up to 7 individual homescreens can also be assigned, allowing users to have different screens for different situations and scenarios.

One of the major selling points of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the inclusion of a dual-core processor. At 1.2 MHz, this allows for blistering performance. This is advantageous to a number of applications; superfast loading of internet pages, faster downloads of apps, as well as a more responsive touchscreen. Although the original Galaxy S has a single-core 1GHz processor, this still provides great performance.

Another major upgrade is the 8 megapixel camera over the original's 5 megapixel offering. With a larger pixel count comes an increased photo resolution and therefore higher quality photos. Additionally the Galaxy S2 has the ability shoot full 1080p video footage.

The original came with 8GB of internal storage as standard; however this has been doubled in the Samsung Galaxy S2. Therefore, thousands of music tracks and other multimedia files, along with downloaded apps from the Android Market can be stored comfortably in the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is one of the highest spec smartphones available today. It joins the ranks of only a small number of smartphones to offer dual-core processors, such as the LG Optimus 2X and HTC Sensation.

As you can see, a lot has been upgraded on this version, and it is sure to prove popular among those who are looking to upgrade from the original Galaxy S, or simply those who are impressed with the superb technology it offers.

Samsung Galaxy S Is One of the Finest Smartphones Available

The plethora of high-end smart phones that are currently exists in the industry today has been made even more consistent with the launch of the Samsung S. However, following the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S, it is expected that much of the competition between the phones will be coming to an end. This is because the Galaxy S will be getting all the attention and praise. The new Samsung phone is so feature rich that it can literally blow away its competition. It does not take long to realise that and it is clearly evident from the styling of the phone itself.

It is very different from the other Samsung phones that have existed over the years. Hence, it is not bland or not good-looking. The Samsung is one of the best looking phones currently in the market. It is something that has been enhanced by the fact that it will be coming with a 4 inch display. This display is quite brilliant at handling the rich colour options that will be provided by the Android operating system that is present in the phone. The usage of the 2.2 operating system version in the Galaxy S might not be justified given the huge amount of features that are present in the phone. A Look At The Rumors Surrounding The Features Of The Samsung Galaxy S3

It seems that every day there are new rumours surfacing regarding the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Although not yet officially announced, the handset is already surrounded by masses on hype, with numerous websites claiming to be in possession of leaked photos and spec sheets.

Samsung's upcoming headliner will be tasked with filling the shoes of the highly popular Galaxy S2, which was one of the most popular smartphones of 2011. Below I will round up some of the recent rumours about the Galaxy S3.

Processor

Many suspected that the Samsung Galaxy S3 would sport a quad core processor. Logic would dictate that this is the case, as the new HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD boast this feature and both were recently released. Also, Samsung will have the iPhone 5 to compete with, so you would expect them not to take any chances of being outdone by Apple in the processor department upon its suspected summer release. It has recently been confirmed by a Samsung executive that the phone will indeed feature a quad-core processor, so users will benefit from outstanding performance levels from both the hardware and software alike. Interestingly, the processor is rumoured to be manufactured by Exynos rather than Qualcomm, who produced the processors in the Galaxy S and Galaxy S2.

Screen

Although questionable in their authenticity, there are several leaked photos of the Galaxy S3, claiming various sources both in and out of Samsung. However, many of these share common feature; an edge to edge screen. This means that the screen extends to the very edge on each side of the phone. This would suggest that the screen is likely to have larger dimensions than that of the Samsung Galaxy S2, and more than likely this will mean that a much higher resolution display will also be included. The smartphone world is still awaiting the arrival of the first full HD screen, so maybe the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be the first.

Operating System

Although features like the screen and processor are questionable at this stage until officially announced, one this is for sure; the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be running the latest version of Android, called Ice Cream Sandwich. This was showcased on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, with its impressive features such as face unlock and Google Beam. Updates are rolling out to compatible handsets in coming weeks, while many of the new Android phones released at Barcelona's MWC event earlier this month also included the new software. Samsung's biggest rival, Apple, are more than likely to release a new version of iOS alongside the iPhone 5 as has been the case with previous releases of the popular iPhone series.

Until the Samsung Galaxy S3 is officially unveiled, we will not know for sure what the handset's exact specifications will be, but with the amount of attention it is already receiving, its popularity looks assured, and will be one of the biggest tech releases of 2012.

A Look At Screen And Camera Technology On The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And Samsung Galaxy Note

Released around the same time last year, Samsung's Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus were, at the time, two of the most impressive smartphone on the market. Even with a number of manufacturers announcing their high tech new flagship phones recently, they can still hold their own thanks to their impressive spec lists. In this article I will look at the similarities and differences of some of the devices' key features.

Screen

Both the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note boast some of the best touchscreens out there in terms of their resolutions as well as the Super AMOLED capacitive technology. Only recently have we seen competitors offering similar screens on their smartphones. The Sony Xperia S, and a number of HTC phones like the HTC One X which was recently unveiled at MWC 2012 in Barcelona incorporate the same resolutions and technology found on the screens of the Nexus and Galaxy Note. At 720x 1280, the resolution of the Galaxy Nexus is able to display HD content like movies and games, while the same is true of the Galaxy Note, which even sports a higher pixel resolution of 800x 1280. Amazingly, this increased pixel resolution is on a larger screen, which measures 5.3 inches, making the Galaxy Note something of a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet. Given the fact that this whopping pixel resolution of found on such a large screen means that on paper at least, the Note boasts the most advanced touchscreen of any smartphone in the world.

Camera

Both the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note have impressive rear facing built in digital cameras. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a 5 megapixel camera, which may seem a little low for a modern smartphone, but improvements in lens technology means that despite its relatively low pixel count is it still capable of capturing high quality still images, and unusually for a 5 megapixel camera can even capture 1080p HD video footage. The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts an 8 megapixel camera, which as you can imagine produces higher image quality. Both phones offer the ability to capture HD video, as well as the standard features such as autofocus, touch focus, image stabilisation, LED flash and face & smile detection.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was the first to showcase the newest version of Android, called Ice Cream Sandwich, while the Note runs the Gingerbread version although it will support an ICS update when it rolls out to compatible smartphones at various points throughout 2012 based on manufacturer.

If you are looking for the best Android devices out there, both the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy Note are worthy of a place on your shortlist. Both handsets offer something not seem in many other handsets, and with their advanced screens, innovative operating systems and capable cameras, both make an ideal choice for a range of users.

Key Features Of The Samsung Galaxy S2 And Galaxy S3 Compared

If you are one of the many people who are considering purchasing the popular smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S2, it may be worth waiting until its successor, the Galaxy S3 is launched, an event which is expected to take place in the coming weeks. In this article I will look at the differences between some key features of the two handsets so you can decide whether it is worth the wait.

Screen
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is well known for its S-AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which provides great display quality for all manner of multimedia products. The screen provides wide viewing angles and superb brightness even when being viewed outside which is something that many other phones struggle to do well. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is likely to have similar touchscreen technology, but we can expect differences in terms of the resolution and possibly the size of the screen. Samsung already has the screen technology with the likes of the Galaxy Note and Nexus boasting some of the highest touchscreen resolutions of any smartphones currently available, even beating the retina display of the iPhone 4S. Therefore, if you plan on using the phone for multimedia use, then I think it would be worth waiting and getting the new Galaxy S3.

Processor
Every year for the past couple of years, smartphones have got progressively more powerful when it comes to the processors they include. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has a very capable 1.2 GHz dual-core processor which means that it provides excellent performance from hardware like the responsiveness of the touchscreen, to software like its ability to run multiple apps simultaneously without jeopardising their performance. With the Galaxy S3, it has been rumoured that a quad-core processor will be included. The clock speed is still unclear but it is likely that it will be either 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz. This essentially means that performance and speeds will double what the Galaxy S2 is capable of. Therefore, you can look forward to lightning fast response times from the touchscreen, faster loading and operating times of applications and more efficient multitasking, as well as more benefits like the ability to display richer graphics making it ideal for watching movies or gaming on the phone.

Operating System
With the release of the new version of Android (v4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich), we can expect a very different interface from the Galaxy S3. There is a long list of features which make it an appealing platform with notable upgrades including the ability to unlock the phone using face recognition in conjunction with the front facing camera. The Galaxy S2 will support this software via an update but it is unclear just how many of the features will be compatible. The Samsung Galaxy S3 will be optimised to take full advantage of the new software so you will be able to make the most of all the new features.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 was one of the most popular smartphones of 2011, and this looks set to continue well into 2012. It is one of the biggest competitors to the iPhone 4S so Samsung certainly know what they are doing. If you are a tech enthusiast or prefer to own the latest smartphone technology you may want to wait until the Galaxy S3 is released. Either way, both are great smartphones and you will surely be happy with whatever you choose. Your decision will probably come down to how important you feel it is to own the most up to date technology.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Galaxy S2 HD - The Two Leading Samsung Devices For 2012

The Samsung Galaxy S2 was the biggest selling mobile handset of 2012 and Samsung are looking to continue this success in 2012 with two fresh. We take a look at the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S2 HD and also the new Galaxy Nexus, a device that was unveiled at the end of 2011.

Although we have had no official confirmation from Samsung, a leading mobile phone website in the UK has recently featured an advert for a new Galaxy S2 HD model. The original Galaxy S2 is approaching its first birthday so the fact that a new model may be waiting to step into its shoes is no great surprise although many experts predicted that this would be the Galaxy S3. It seems as though Samsung may hold this model back until later in the year and launch the S2 HD in the coming weeks. Although the UK release of this model has not been confirmed details on the model can be found on Samsung's Australian website. In terms of design the new HD model looks very similar to the original S2 with a black plastic back panel and a trio of three buttons located beneath the phones display. The screen size of this model has increased to 4.6 inches from 4.3 inches and the same Super AMOLED technology is used to help produce great viewing angles together with excellent colour reproduction. The phones looks set to run on the popular Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and include a high quality 8 mega pixel camera. Other major differences on this new model look set to be the inclusion of an NFC chip and an updated 1.5Ghz dual core processor that should ensure that the model is one of the fastest phones available.

Samsung will offer numerous lower specification models throughout the year but it looks as though the Galaxy S2 HD will sit alongside the superb Samsung Galaxy Nexus at the top of the range. It is difficult to differentiate between these two models although the Nexus looks set to be the highlight of the range thanks to its use of the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the first model released to run on this platform. This will make the Nexus popular with those looking for the very latest technology while the S2 HD will appeal to the mass market who will immediately associate the model with its popular predecessor. The Galaxy Nexus offers the same size 4.6 inch display which is capable of displaying a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The model is slightly more pleasing on the eye than the S2 HD and blends some gorgeous curves with an attractive black finish that really makes the model stand out from its competitors.

Despite producing dozens of different handsets the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S2 HD will be the premier devices that are offered by the brand. The Galaxy Nexus appeals thanks to the software that is on offer while the forthcoming S2 HD includes some of the best hardware currently available.
